Dj Clone

Tshireletso Montsho also known as DJ Clone was born in the SOuth WEstern TOwnships of Johannesburg, Mzin’hlophe. Grew up in Alexandra then moved to Bramley View. Moving to Bramley marked a turning point for Tshireletso as he coined the name “Clone” from his Friends.
Clone developed a big passion for music during the late 90s specifically in the Kwaito genre. In 2001 he developed interest in becoming a DJ. Clone then worked on his skills behind the decks. He was booked for his first official event in 2002. It was after this event in Alexandra, where he experienced the power of having a crowd under his command. Clone was further introduced to house music in the same year.
In 2003 he broke into the club scene which opened up many doors in the entertainment industry. In the same year he took many roles as a resident DJ at many iconic clubs in and around Johannesburg. This includes a long service of 5 years at a former local club named “Club Fiesta”. During his service at Club Fiesta, Clone developed his signature mixing style by incorporating Hip Hop, House and Kwaito all in one set. This particular style entailing mainly an old school classic track selection defines a DJ who is: “A Multi-Talented / Skilled DJ.”
Being this multi-talented DJ, Clone furthered his knowledge as a DJ by becoming a lecturer. Fuse Academy, a DJ school by DJ Zinhle, opened its doors to him where he teaches many young ladies at the school to live out their dreams as DJ’s.
Clone has further broadened his name in the industry by having his own radio show on Rhythm 100 radio (Africa’s number one internet Radio Station). The name of the show is the Sound Sutra and Clone has managed to incorporate all his favourite genres on the show by playing mainly R&B, Hip Hop, House and Kwaito. The show airs every Friday from 14:00 – 17:00.
Clone has played alongside admired deejays: DJ Euphonic, Dj Fingers, Dj Shimza, Black Coffee, Mo Flava, Zan‐D, Tholi B, Switch, Dj Yme, Dj Zinhle, Dj Sbu, Dj Fresca, Dj Dimples, Soul T, Lulocafe, Bobstar, Dj Oskido, Dj Claude, DJ Pepsi, Dj Tipz and International DJ Martin Atjazz.
